I'd like to announce our new show is up — "Everyday Joe." Everyday thoughts, opinions and commentary on real world issues and events. Low on the geek factor, yet remarkably entertaining.
Today's Everyday Joe Podcast:
- Voter Registration
- Kids and Young Adults
- Parent/Teacher Relationships
Listen here: Everyday Joe Pilot
As an aside, I've been hearing some talk lately about adding a "Podcast" genre into the ID3 tags. I'm here to lobby against that. "Podcast" is not really what you'd want to label your genre. It's like labeling Letterman "Television." We need descriptors that match the format, not the medium. So, if you want to add a genre, add "Talk Show" or "DJ Radio" or something like that. Not "Podcast." Podcasting is the delivery mechanism, not a description of the content.
That's where we run into those holier-than-thou types who "... have been Podcasting since 1994!" No. It's not putting audio on the internet that makes you a Podcaster. It's facilitating the entire process from server to handheld (or workstation, whereever you listen). It's taking disparate, distributed audio files and building a relationship between them using your audio tastes and an aggregator like iPodder.
It's a personal, on demand radio station automatically assembled just for you. That's what Podcasting is.
1994? We usually just say we've been doing it since before the Fall of 2004. ;)

i think you are very off when you say that young voters dont care about our country. That is full of crap i hate to tell you, everyone on my floor at school watched the debates and we talk, discuss and fight about the topics for hours, and half of our conversations at meals lead to politics. i do understand that programs like vote or die may have alternative plans but they are getting people to think about what they believe in. BUT you have no right to say that kid dont care cause we do.
